James Matt is an American singer songwriter residing in Central Oregon. Stylistically, James is often described as fitting into the folk, folk-rock genre. Inspired by legends such as Neil Young, Steven Stills, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, Buddy Holly and others. James often adds a memorable rhythmic element to his music. He finds inspiration for songs from life, thoughtfully weaving together the hopes, hurts, joys and deep questions relevant to our common humanity. While some songs are autobiographical, others are not, and may cause listeners to reflect on current events in society. Some songs are glad, while others are sad.
